  • Our client, a premier safari company operating several Camps and Lodges across Kenya that offers immersive safari experiences and luxury accommodations is seeking to recruit a Camp Manager.

    JOB PURPOSE

    As a Camp Manager, your primary responsibility is to ensure guest satisfaction and oversee staff development within established Quality Standards. You will play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day operations, maintaining service excellence, and fostering a positive work environment for the team.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Host guests within the camps to deliver on the guest promise.
    • Identify training and development needs for team members and provide training to meet service standards.
    • Set, document and implement standards within departments, ensuring continuous improvement through regular review and daily monitoring.
    • Ensure all camp policies, procedures, operating manuals, training manuals and disciplinary codes are in place, signed and understood by staff.
    • Manage staff performance and ensure that they are meeting their allocated goals and objectives.
    • Facilitate career development and ensure an ongoing succession plan is implemented in consultation with Human Resource department.
    • Exceed guest expectations through exceptional service delivery.
    • Determine, clarify and implement company and department objectives.
    • Seek and act on business feedback and results from Team leaders and Associates.
    • Evaluate and review employee performance regularly.
    • Make decisions aligned with policies, procedures and objectives.
    • Achieve monthly and annual budgets, seeking continuous improvement.
    • Maintain and improve service delivery standards.
    • Foster positive relationships with suppliers and third parties.
    • Stay competitive and responsive to market initiatives.
    • Improve performance measuring and reporting.
    • Enhance financial analysis, controls, audit capabilities and manage risks efficiently and effectively.
    • Ensure productive and efficient staff management.
    • Implement and conduct regular daily and weekly meetings.
    • Enhance system accuracy and responsiveness.
    • Support efficient daily administration and perform other duties assigned by management.

     

    EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND TRAITS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
    • Proven experience in camp management or similar roles.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
    • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
    • Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and best practices.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and hospitality management software.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
