  • Our client, a leading microfinance bank, is seeking to hire a Snr. Credit Admin Officer to join their team.

    JOB PURPOSE:                                          

    To maintain the quality of credit facilities advanced by ensuring credit documentation is enforceable, the bank’s interests in collateral held are secured and ensure that borrowers meet their contractual obligations as stipulated in loan contracts.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Disbursement of loans according to the approved terms ensuring that all loan account balances, commissions, and interests are properly calculated.
    • Preparation of management reports as well as periodic returns to Central Bank of Kenya and credit reference bureaus.
    • Preparation of timely and accurate facility offer letters and returns of the same from customers in liaison with the Account Relationship Managers.
    • Manage loan migration by ensuring zero arrears on all performing (Normal & Watch) credit Facilities.
    • Maintain an up-to-date register for all securities including valuations and insurances, and their maintenance in the banking system as well as safe custody of the same as per the control procedures
    • Collection of loan related fees and commissions for all loans.
    • Coordination of submission of loan clearance certificates by customers for loans in cases of loan takeovers.
    • Preparation of the loan disbursement reports.
    • Preparation of scheme loan disbursement reports for payroll booking with respective employers.
    • Management of Loan Files after loan disbursement.
    • Analyze credit propositions as allocated and recommend for approval.
    • Reviewing assigned files for compliance of the approval conditions.
    • Assess temporary credit requests and recommend for approval.
    • Ensure compliance with CBK and Microfinance Act regulatory requirements and other regulations.
    • Preparation of IFRS 9 reports, IAS 39 reports and other management reports as well as periodic returns to Central Bank of Kenya and credit reference bureaus.
    • Management of a database and loan listings of all loans received into the department.
    • Designing, reviewing and updating a risk-based model for the Bank.
    • Ensuring proper securities perfection and registration process.
    • Improving digital loan platforms, loan management systems and other related systems.
    • Supporting both internal and external Audit exercise including regulatory Audits.
    • To perform any other duty as assigned in line with the organization goals and objectives.

    EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

    • Holder of bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
    • Must be a holder of professional qualifications such as CPA, CCP, CIFA, ACCA etc.
    • 5+ years in Credit management and extensive knowledge of lending products and prudential guidelines.
    • Good knowledge in debt management will be added advantage.
    • Professional banking qualifications will be added advantage.
    • Knowledge of lending products and prudential guidelines.
    • Ability to lead teams and deliver business results.
    • Must be self-driven; possess excellent administrative, communication and interpersonal skills, strong organization, and negotiation skills.
