Our client, Mitsumi Distribution, one of the leading firms in the technology distribution sector providing a diverse array of authorized IT products and services across the Middle East and Africa regions is seeking a proactive and commercially driven Business Development Manager – Software Sales to lead the growth of their software distribution business. The role holder will be based in Cameroon and will also handle Ivory Coast and DRC.
JOB PURPOSE
This role will focus on identifying channel partners, managing vendor relationships, and driving sales of licensed and SaaS-based software solutions across industries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Channel Sales & Partner Development
- Recruit, onboard, and enable resellers, VARs, and system integrators to sell their software portfolio.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with channel partners and support their sales efforts through training, joint calls, and marketing campaigns.
- Design and execute partner sales strategies to drive revenue and expand market reach.
Vendor Management
- Act as the key liaison between their company and software vendors (ISVs, OEMs).
- Drive alignment with vendor sales targets, marketing incentives, and partner programs.
- Ensure timely renewals, updates on product launches, and compliance with vendor certification requirements.
Sales Execution & Pipeline Management
- Achieve sales targets for assigned software lines (e.g., cybersecurity, ITSM, productivity, ERP, analytics).
- Generate new business opportunities directly and through partners.
- Monitor sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics.
Solution Positioning & Market Awareness
- Stay updated on competitive software products, market trends, and customer needs.
- Collaborate with technical pre-sales to support demos, POCs, and solution customization.
- Organize or support webinars, roadshows, and partner events to increase product awareness.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- 4–8 years of experience in software sales, preferably in distribution or channel-driven environments.
- Strong understanding of B2B software models (SaaS, perpetual, subscription), licensing, and channel structures.
- Proven ability to manage channel partners, vendor relations, and large accounts.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Preferred Knowledge / Experience
- Experience with enterprise software categories such as:
- Cybersecurity (e.g., Kaspersky, ESET, Sophos)
- Productivity/Collaboration (e.g., Microsoft 365, Zoho, Google Workspace)
- Backup & Recovery, ITSM, BI tools, or Cloud SaaS offerings
- Familiarity with vendor certification programs and partner portals
