Our client in the energy sector is looking to hire a reliable, courteous, and customer-focused Customer Service Attendant to join their team at their Kamulu petrol station.
JOB PURPOSE
To provide exceptional customer service at the petrol station by efficiently attending to customers, handling fuel dispensing, processing payments, and ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are maintained at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fuel Dispensing: Accurately and safely pump fuel into vehicles as requested by customers.
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly, assist with inquiries, and ensure a positive experience throughout their visit.
- Vehicle Assistance: Perform basic checks like oil levels, tire pressure, and clean windshields when requested.
- Payment Handling: Process cash, card, or mobile money payments using POS systems and issue receipts.
- Sales Support: Promote and upsell station products such as lubricants, car accessories, and car wash services.
- Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain a tidy forecourt, restrooms, and pump areas; follow safety protocols for handling fuel and other hazardous materials.
- Stock Management: Restock shelves with items like oils, and other station products.
- Reporting: Balance the cash drawer at the end of shifts and report any discrepancies or equipment issues.
- Ensure good merchandising/display of products range as per procedure. Ensure that products on display are well stocked, clean and well-arranged according to the described lubes rack merchandising order.
- To uphold sound cash management practices at the forecourt as per procedure. Customer attendant is mandated to always keep a specified amount of cash during the day and at night and surrender sales cash regularly as per the cash drop register requirement and procedure.
- Implementation of operational functions delegated by the station supervisor and Station Manager.
Educational Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Education: KCSE (Form 4) certificate is required.
- Experience: Prior customer service or retail experience is an advantage.
- Skills: Strong communication, basic math for handling payments, attention to detail, and physical fitness for outdoor work.
