Our client, a prominent textile and apparel manufacturer in Tanzania and a significant player in East Africa's garment industry, is looking for a CSR & Compliance Coordinator to lead and guide the CSR team in order to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards across all operations.

Job Purpose

The Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring full adherence to compliance, health, safety, and environmental standards across all production units (excluding the laundry facility). This includes conducting internal audits, managing buyer compliance audits (technical & social), managing certifications, and ensuring proper implementation of client-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Compliance Facility Check


  • Conducting internal audit and general site inspection on company compliance.

  • In charge of managing Buyer Compliance audits.

PPE Management


  • Assure correct use of PPE.

  • Work together with EHS Officer (Environmental, Health and Safety Officer) to plan safety awareness trainings where necessary.

Weekly CAP Reports (Corrective Action and Preventive Action Reports)


  • Create a CAP report on identified compliance and Health & Safety concerns in each unit.

  • Send weekly report to Facility Manager and hold meetings to address identified issues.

  • Revise cleanliness and housekeeping of all departments and facility surroundings (5-S system).

Ensure Trainings are done and Up to Date


  • Work together with EHS Officer on Factory Trainings.

  • Follow up training plan for general trainings and Health & safety trainings (Rules & Regulations, Maintenance safety trainings, Fire Drills, First Aiders etc.).

Factory Certifications


  • Assist the CSR Manager in coordinating certifications for the factory, such as C-TPAT certificate, SMETA 2-pilar/ Higg FSLM, Higg FEM, FCCA, ZDHC Certification, RCS and GCS certificate, ISO 14001, OEKO-TEX std.100.

Coordinate Maintenance


  • Together with Facility Manager, follow-up reported issues with onsite Maintenance teams.

Tracking of Energy sources


  • In Alignment with company Environmental strategy,all energy sources such as electricity, water, Diesel etc. need to be recorded and tracked on monthly basis together with CSR team.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND TRAITS


  • Willing to move to Tanzania Dar es  Salaam

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree to the role./ or equivalent certification

  • Experience working in industrial/ Textile factory environment.

  • Posses necessary ISO certifications

  • Team management experience and good communication skills

  • Fluent understanding of English language.

  • Excellent computer skills.
