Duration: Short Term – 3-4 months
Our client, a leading International Non-Governmental Organization(iNGO) is seeking an experienced, dynamic and results-oriented Head of Human Resources to support a restructuring process, for a period of 3-4 months.
Job Purpose
This strategic leader will spearhead the restructuring process, align to labor laws ensure support to employees is provided, and monitor and evaluate the implementation with the help of the management to ensure effectiveness. S/he will develop plans, report on results, and oversee the delivery of a high-quality and harmonious restructuring process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support an ongoing restructuring process ensuring completeness and accuracy of the following components
- Restructuring communication plan. Reviewing the existing plan to ensure stakeholders’ information is adequate to help reduce staff and stakeholder uncertainty.
- Implementation of the restructuring plan.
- Alignment of all new job descriptions to the Country Office organization chart.
- Support to affected employees is provided – counseling, training, etc.
- Oversee the management of the HR department
- Daily leadership of the HR Department.
- Biweekly review of HR Department plans in consultation with the Supervisor.
- Provide support and guidance on the recruitment process, design the country office training plan, oversee well thought-out staff capacity building plan including an onboarding for new staff.
- Ensure the performance evaluation is followed up and outcomes recommended to the management.
- Prepare and submit reports and returns as per requirement and carry out mitigation action points to address human resource risks.
- Facilitate the implementation of the Human Resource system.
- Develop the HR work plan for 2025.
- Other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Masters/MBA/BA Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or other relevant degrees from a recognized institution. Human Resources professional qualifications and training are an added advantage.
- 10 years of related experience with an iNGO holding a senior HR management role.
- Have experience in Emergency and Humanitarian contexts.
- Be knowledgeable in all aspects of Human Resource Management including team management and working in an intercultural environment.
- Highly organized, disciplined, detail oriented and work well under pressure.
- Self-motivated and capable of analyzing information with the aim of arriving at conclusions with minimal guidance.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication as well as being computer literate especially when it comes to report writing and analysis.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Able to work effectively in a large organization requiring excellent communication, planning, organization, and team management skills.
- Capacity to analyze HR-related information and concisely report large amounts of information to different stakeholders.
- Good practical knowledge of commonly used computer software (MS Office Suite), applicant tracking systems payroll software, etc.
- High sense of confidentiality and diplomacy.
- Approachable, diplomatic, respecting confidentiality, and able to work effectively in a diverse environment.
- Excellent command of English (oral and written).
- Perfect command of understanding and interpreting the national labor law and employment norms and practices in the country.
- Excellent English oral and written verbal communication skills including the ability to explain organizational policies & procedures and produce timely, comprehensive, and well-written documents.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including an ability to plan for multiple priorities, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances; and flexible approach/ willingness to take on additional tasks.

- Able to argue, convince, and lead negotiations.
- Able to develop, maintain, and mobilize a professional external network.
