JOB PURPOSE
The Network Cloud Engineer role is to ensure the availability, reliability and stable Operation of the Production Infrastructure of Networking Systems including Compliance and Security principles since the beginning. It focuses on maintaining, supporting and optimizing key functional areas like Networks Infrastructure, Automation Tools and data communications.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilizes software development and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts to build, test and run required Platform services
- Draft Process flow charts & Procedures, perform capacity planning, and implement changes within the technology Platform services like:
- Deploying and auditing configuration of network devices
- Helping with Network health, including metrics collection, visualization, and alerting
- Tracking network utilization over time to assist capacity planning models
- Enhance monitoring and alerting solutions of the platform services to validate they meet service level objectives (SLOs)
- Continuously refines processes and procedures with a focus on standardizing the work and shifting it to the Vertical Teams
- Works on projects/platforms/services/issues of varying complexity surrounding network planning, configuration and optimization
- Own CI/CD frameworks and pipelines
- Focused on identifying and removing dependencies on the Team and unnecessary hands-off
- Proactively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance Customer experience
- Knows, understands and follows Company policies, specific to data collection, security standards, storage and retainment
- Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
- Performs other duties as requested by the Supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Candidate must possess at least a BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related Programming or related field and/or equivalent work experience
- At least 5+ years experience in IT Infrastructure or software development
- Experience in programming (Terraform, Python, Golang, Bash) and a good understanding of software development methodologies, open-source systems and familiarity with Git repositories
- Ability to build and maintain Linux and Network systems through automation software (e.g. Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform) with focus on testing and quality
- Familiarity with NMS protocols, data structures and modeling (YAML, JSON, XML,, API, Jinja2, Netconf/Yang, SNMP, Syslog)
- Experience using Agile (e.g. Kanban or Scrum)
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and unmanaged drive
- Ability to work in a Team and works well under pressure and deadlines
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Independent but collaborative, driven, assertive
SKILLS
- Hands on experience with Cloud service providers Microsoft Azure, GCP and/or AWS
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as ELK, Grafana, Application performance and packet tracing Analysis tools (e.g. wireshark)
- Knowledge of customized APIs to enhance automation/data collection
- Ability to perform duties in a very fast paced environment
