    SUN Mobility is seeking an Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure strict compliance with Kenyan accounting standards and statutory regulations.

    JOB PURPOSE:

    This individual will support month-end and year-end closing activities, manage reconciliations, assist in statutory filings, and provide accurate financial reporting for local operations.

    The Accountant will work closely with the Finance Manager and SUN Mobility’s India HQ to ensure transparent, accurate, and timely financial management in Kenya.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements in Kenya.
    • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, vendor payments, receivables, and invoicing.
    • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
    • Coordinate with auditors, banks, and tax authorities for audit and compliance filings.
    • Maintain internal controls and accurate documentation for all financial transactions.
    • Work closely with the Finance Manager and India HQ to align on reporting and governance requirements.

    EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    • 5+ years of accounting and financial management experience, preferably in automotive, EV, renewable energy, or manufacturing sectors.
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a business-related field.
    • Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
    • Strong knowledge of Kenyan accounting standards, tax laws, and compliance frameworks.
    • Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end closing, audits, and reconciliations.
    • Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
    • Prior exposure to startup or fast-scaling environments is an advantage.
