  • Our Client, JipJab, is East Africa’s first premium ready-to-drink brand, born in Nairobi and built for great nights out. They are a young, fun, fast-moving team with one huge ambition: to build the most loved drinks brand in the region. The product is in market, the brand is growing fast, and this is the stage where careers get made. The person who joins us now will shape what JipJab becomes.

    ROLE MISSION

Put JipJab within arm’s reach across Nairobi. Drive distribution through our distributor partner’s sales team, and turn every new listing into an account that reorders.

    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Nairobi Sales Lead is part field operator, part channel manager. You know Nairobi’s on-premise trade across price tiers, from premium venues to mainstream bars to local Swahili bars, and you are at home in all of them. You have driven volume through a distributor before and know how to get someone else’s sales team to push your brand through the right mix of presence, training and incentives. You care as much about whether a listing reorders as whether it lists, because a listing that does not sell is dead stock.

In character, you are hungry, organized and straight-talking. You own the market like it is your own business, you love the trade and the people in it, and you bring the energy of a brand that is going somewhere into every bar you walk into.

    KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Drive our distributor partner’s sales team to deliver an ambitious outlet-expansion push across Nairobi. You own it: brief them, ride along, prioritize, and keep JipJab top of their bag. Full targets shared at interview.
    • Design and run the distributor rep incentive that makes JipJab the brand they push. Build the structure, track it, and keep it working.
    • Own sell-through, not just listings. Turn availability into reordering accounts through activations and follow-up, so listings never become dead stock.
    • Plan and run outlet tastings and activations, around 8 to 10 a month, focused on the priority premium and mainstream accounts.
    • Own stock-pull coordination with the distributor so listed accounts stay stocked. Target: 95% of stock-pull requests fulfilled without a stock-out.
    • Prioritize premium and mainstream accounts for depth while the distributor team drives breadth across the wider outlet base.
    • Keep accurate records and report weekly: new listings, reorders, activations and rep performance.
    • Build strong relationships with distributor management and reps, outlet owners and managers, bartenders and promoters.
    • Apply JipJab’s sales-driver framework across the outlet base. We will train you on it.
    • Prioritize growth and activation ahead of the December peak to maximize in-market readiness.

    EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

    Required:

    • Proven field sales or trade-marketing experience in FMCG, beverage or hospitality, ideally in Nairobi’s on-premise channel.
    • Real experience driving volume through a distributor and getting a third-party sales team to push your brand.
    • Experience designing or running a trade or rep incentive.
    • Hands-on in-outlet tastings and activations, including evenings and weekends.
    • Strong relationship-building across premium, mainstream and local bars.
    • Valid driving license or reliable transport for daily coverage across Nairobi.

    Preferred:

    • Existing relationships with Nairobi bar and restaurant owners and managers.
    • Experience managing a distributor, promoter or merchandising team.
    • Experience selling alcoholic beverages or another regulated category.

    WHAT WE OFFER

    • A front-row seat at one of East Africa’s most exciting young drinks brands, with room to grow as we do.
    • A young, dynamic, fun team that works hard and celebrates its wins together.
    • Real ownership from day one: your market, your relationships, your numbers.
    • A competitive package.
