POSITION: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO).

LOCATION: NAIROBI, KENYA.

REPORTING TO: THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN/BOARD.

Our client is a fast-growing mid-sized freight forwarding company in Nairobi. They specialize in air and sea cargo from key global hubs e.g., Dubai, Guangzhou, London, Milan, Johannesburg, Istanbul and Amsterdam. They move 80-100 tonnes of air freight monthly (commercial and personal items) and one – 40ft container daily, providing full end-to-end visibility from warehouse receipt through customs clearance to final delivery.

Our client is seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to take full operational responsibility, professionalize their processes and drive their next phase of growth.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead all 7 departments i.e., the sales department, the customer service department, the transport department, the marketing department, the call centre department, the warehouse department and the operations department.
• Deliver 20 to 30% year-on-year revenue growth while optimizing profitability.
• Enhance client experience – especially faster resolutions of delays, breakages and claims.
• Oversee air freight, sea containers, warehousing, transport, and customs clearance.
• Build strong global partnerships and implement technology for better tracking and efficiency.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & CAREER EXPERIENCE:

• 10-15 years of experience in freight forwarding/logistics, with strong experience in air freight and containerized sea freight.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in executive leadership roles e.g., GM, Director, CEO roles with direct P&L responsibility.
• Proven track record in client service excellence and operational improvement in logistics.
• Deep knowledge of the Kenyan/East African regulatory environment (KRA, KPA, KEBS).
• A bachelor’s degree in business, logistics or a related field: An MBA or CILT/FIATA certification would be an added advantage.
