POSITION: SALES EXECUTIVE – SOLAR SOLUTIONS
LOCATION: MOMBASA, KENYA.
COMPENSATION: KES 50,000 – 100,000 (negotiable based on candidate experience and fitness for the job.)
Our client, a market leader of renewable energy solutions across East Africa, is seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Sales Executive to drive solar business growth.
JOB PURPOSE:
The ideal candidate will actively generate leads, engage clients, and expand the market to boost the growth of the solar business. They will be self-motivated, persuasive, and passionate about renewable energy solutions, with the ability to convert opportunities into long-term business relationships.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Generation & Market Development
- Identify, approach, and develop new business opportunities in the industrial, commercial, and institutional solar segments.
- Conduct market mapping to ensure strong regional coverage and visibility for our client.
- Generate inquiries through cold calls, site visits, referrals, digital platforms, and networking.
- Maintain a healthy sales funnel through consistent prospecting and follow-up.
Customer Engagement & Sales Conversion
- Present our client’s products and solutions to prospective clients confidently and professionally.
- Understand customer energy needs, site conditions, and financial objectives to position the right solar solution.
- Coordinate with the technical team to prepare proposals, simulations, and presentations.
- Follow up diligently on proposals and convert qualified leads into confirmed orders.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on lead generation, pipeline status, and sales achievements.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions in CRM or reporting formats.
Coordination & Teamwork
- Work closely with design and execution teams to ensure smooth project handover post-sale.
- Support marketing activities such as exhibitions, awareness campaigns, and client events.
- Provide feedback from the field to enhance products, pricing, and service offerings.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, or business administration.
- 2–4 years of sales experience in Solar EPC, Renewable Energy, or Industrial Equipment sectors.
- Proven track record in lead generation and B2B/B2C sales.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong customer relationship management and follow-up discipline.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Self-driven, persuasive, and resilient with a strong go-getter attitude.
- Willingness to travel frequently for client visits and fieldwork.
