    DESCRIPTION

    Our client, a leading automotive manufacturer in Electric 2&3 Wheelers offering continued renewable energy technology and ride-hailing service provider and affordable transportation solutions through excellent customer service is seeking to recruit and RSA Technician – Licensed Technician Rider

    JOB PURPOSE

    The RSA Technician (Licensed Technician Rider) is a critical frontline role within Spiro Kenya’s aftersales operations. The technician will be part of the 24-hour Roadside Assistance (RSA) team, providing on-call support to Spiro riders in need of emergency technical help, repairs, or basic maintenance in the field. This role requires a licensed motorbike rider with strong technical skills, excellent customer handling, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electric vehicle (EV) issues on-site, day or night.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Emergency Technical Support

    ·       Provide on-site diagnostics, repair, and recovery support for Spiro riders experiencing breakdowns or technical issues.

    ·       Attend to RSA calls during assigned day or night shifts based on rota or emergency escalation. 

    ·       Support minor repairs and troubleshooting for EV bikes, battery faults, or controller errors. 

    Field Maintenance & Minor Repairs 

    ·       Carry out preventive maintenance or quick service interventions in the field to restore bike functionality and reduce downtime. 

    ·       Accurately document interventions and escalate complex issues to the service center when needed. 

    Rider Support & Customer Service 

    ·       Provide professional and courteous support to Spiro riders, ensuring confidence and safety during breakdown incidents.

    ·       Educate riders on basic troubleshooting and safe practices where applicable. 

    Safety & Compliance 

    ·       Ensure use of full PPE, safety tools, and adherence to Spiro’s RSA protocols and traffic regulations at all times. 

    ·       Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the RSA motorbike and toolkit assigned. 

    Reporting & Coordination 

    ·       Log all RSA calls, repairs, time-on-site, and parts used through the digital reporting system. 

    ·       Coordinate with the service station and RSA control center for dispatch, tracking, and follow-ups.

    EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND TRAITS.

    ·       Diploma or Certificate in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

    ·       Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in motorcycle or EV maintenance and repair.

    ·       Prior experience in roadside assistance or mobile service support is an added advantage.

    ·       Valid motorcycle license (Class F or G) with a clean riding record.

    ·       Training or experience in electric vehicles (EVs) is a strong advantage.

    ·       Excellent technical diagnostic and repair skills

    ·       Ability to work independently under pressure

    ·       Good communication and rider-facing service skills

    ·       Strong sense of responsibility and safety awareness

    ·       Flexibility to work night/day shifts, weekends, and holidays on a 24-hour rota

    ·       Basic knowledge of mobile apps and digital reporting tools

    ·       Shift Structure: 24-hour coverage via rotational Day and Night Shifts (8 or 12-hour blocks)

    ·       On-call availability during assigned shifts, including weekends and public holiday
