JOB TITLE: OUTSIDE SALES ASSOCIATE.
LOCATION: MOMBASA, KENYA.

Our client, a leading player in the shipping and logistics industry, is seeking a talented, and motivated professional to join their team as an Outside Sales Associate and manage their expanding business in Kenya. 

JOB PURPOSE:
This individual will deliver sales budgets targets as agreed with the Manager and Account Development Plans. They will be responsible for planning and development of sales activity within the country. They will develop customer relationships and negotiate terms with customers in a designated sales area, supporting the maximization of net contribution from the customer and country. They should take the initiative to identify and develop new business opportunities (with both new and existing customers) to support this objective. They will also ensure that all processes and transactions are fully compliant with company rules and regulations.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Visit new and existing customers within designated sales area to negotiate prices, securing best cargo mix to meet the various volume and Net contribution targets set as per Sales plan / budget / ADP.
• Maintain personal relationship with all key customers.
• Deliver Local Sales Targets, challenge, give feedback to, and meet Trade requirements to support the overall Company strategy/vision.
• Liaise with Operations, Customer Service and Credit Control departments to overcome operational issues.
• Ensure overall that communication between Sales and other departments is running smoothly.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

• A minimum of 1- 3 years of work experience / professional shipping experience preferably within selling / negotiating /Customer service. 
• Broad Shipping knowledge, high sociability, evaluative, innovative, competitive, strong communication and negotiating skills, broad cross functional and commercial mind-set & know how. 
• Good communication skills - fluent in English spoken and written.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good PC skills, such as MS office (outlook/word/excel).
• Diligent with high standards of accuracy and detail.
• Ability to work under pressure & excellent time management skills. 
• Ability to prioritize workload.
